How to Use Mario Paint

Mario Paint was released in 1992 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System: It was different from other games on the console at the time, because it came with a two button mouse. It was a basic paint program that also allowed players to draw frame-by-frame animations, and compose simple tunes by dragging icons onto a musical stave. The console and game have been discontinued for many years, but it may be possible to find second hand versions of both.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert the "Mario Paint" game cartridge into the Super NES console.

    • 2

Connect the mouse -- supplied with the game -- into port number one on the console. Turn the console on.

    • 3

Move the mouse around the title screen and click on the letters, to get accustomed to the mouse controller. Click on the Mario figure to start the game.

    • 4

Use the left mouse button to paint on the virtual canvas and select colours from the top of the screen. Click icons on the bottom of the screen to enter different game modes.
