How to Copy Atari 800 Cartridges

The Atari 800 made its first appearance in late 1979 and featured a cartridge slot under its front cover. The cartridges allowed you to play games on the Atari system. If you want to play Atari 800 games on your laptop or computer, you need to transfer them, and you can do so with a CD or DVD to copy the games.

  Acquire an interface that connects a cartridge player to your computer via USB cable or firewall. You can find these at many electronic or vintage electronic retailers.

  Attach the power cable and audio jack to your cartridge player. Connect the other end to your computer's USB port.

  Install the software that came with the interface.

  Let the game copy to your computer, and save the file to your computer's hard drive.

  Copy the file to your computer's CD or DVD disc. Use Windows Media Player to authorize and copy the file onto the disc.
