In the game "Super Mario World," Mario is fast and his jump attack is powerful, but he can go even faster and jump even higher with the aid of his trusty mount, Yoshi. Yoshi and his rainbow-colored siblings are scattered all across the island, and you can easily find them and ride them. They won't appear in their full dinosaur form, though. Instead, they'll be trapped in eggs. You need to free them to get a free ride, but once you're on the back of a Yoshi, you'll be able to endure a greater beating, go faster and jump higher.

Hit a mystery block. Something will come out, such as a mushroom or flower. One of the possible rewards is a speckled egg. This is a Yoshi egg.

Pick up the Yoshi egg to hatch it. Depending on the color of the speckles, you'll get a different kind of Yoshi.

Jump on the Yoshi to ride him. If you press the fire button, Yoshi will stick out his tongue and eat enemies.
