Acquire the Quick Boomerang from Quick Man. Each boss has a weakness to one of the weapons that you acquire from another boss. The time-stopper device acquired from Crash Man will stop Quick Man in his tracks, making him an easy target.
Navigate the conveyor belts of Metal Man's level. You start off with a series of conveyor belts with bottomless pits, and spiked smashing apparatuses with a few jumping enemies, slinky-type enemies and drills coming at you through the floor and ceiling. Pay particular attention to the arrows on the conveyors, signifying their direction. At the end of the first section, there is an "E" tank to boost your health, in plain view in the path.
Take out the cog-riding bad guys. Further along, you will encounter bad guys riding around on giant gear cogs, which can cause damage to you on top of the conveyor belts, and send you sailing off into a bottomless pit. Shoot the cogs until you destroy them, and then the guys on top of them are easy to take out. After taking out four or five of them, you must jump an extremely large gap at the end of a conveyor belt. Run toward the edge and time your jump just as your first foot is barely off the edge to clear the gap.
Battle Metal Man. The boss chamber has a conveyor belt, which constantly switches directions. Metal Man attacks by throwing saw blades at you and jumping nonstop toward you. Defeating him requires jumping over his blades, dodging his jumps and shooting him when you can, all while adjusting to the direction of the conveyor belt. To dispatch him more quickly, use the Quick Boomerang on Metal Man.
