How to Play Super Nintendo Emulator

  Download a Super Nintendo emulator (see Resources). For computers there are two kinds, the SNES9x and ZSNES. Download the zip files to an easy-to-find location and then save the unzipped files to your desktop.

  Download ROM files from various websites (see Resources). ROM files are game files that store the data, graphics, music and other elements of a game. Scroll through the game titles and download the ROMs to your computer.

  Drag and drop the ROM files into the "ROM" folder from the emulator download. The folder will either be labeled as "ROMs" or "Games."

  Double-click on the emulator to load the main menu. Click on "File" and "Load." Use your mouse to select through a list of the downloaded ROM files. Click on a file and press "OK" to load it.

  Click on the "Options" menu and select "Controls" to set the game controls. By default, the arrow keys are used for moving, the space bar is "Start" and "A," "Z," "S" and "D" are used for the buttons. Change each control to better fit the comfort while playing.

Nintendo Wii

  Load the "Homebrew Channel" from the main menu of the Wii.

  Point and press "A" on the "Homebrew Browser." Follow the on-screen directions for updates to the "Homebrew Browser" so that it installs properly.

  Select the "Emulator" tab from the main menu. Scroll down until you see the "ZSNES" application. Click on the small download link.

  Wait until the download finishes, then exit out of the "Homebrew Browser" and restart the Wii.

  Remove the SD card and insert it into your computer. Open the SD card from "My Computer" and look for the folder labeled "ROMs."

  Copy and paste the SNES ROMs from your computer and into the "ROMs" folder. Wait until the process and completes and then insert the SD card back in the Wii.

  Load the ZNES application from the "Homebrew Browser." A list of the installed ROM files will automatically appear. Point and press "A" to the ROM file that you want to load.

  Turn the Wii remote sideways to play the SNES game. "A," "B," "1" and "2" are the main input functions for the game. Use the Gamecube controller or the Wii Classic Controller to play the game.
