How to Make Game Shark Codes for Mario Kart 64

The Game Shark is a device for the Nintendo 64 that allows you to enable cheat codes on various video games. The Game Shark works by altering a Nintendo 64 game's code before it reaches the Nintendo 64, allowing you to use cheats that aren't officially supported by the game you're playing. One of the Game Shark-compatible games you can use the device with is Mario Kart 64. You can create cheats for Mario Kart 64 using the Game Shark by following a few steps.

  Insert the Game Shark device into the cartridge slot on your Nintendo 64.

  Push your Mario Kart 64 game cartridge onto the top of the Game Shark, then turn your Nintendo 64 on.

  Choose "Select Cheat Codes" and press the "A" button.

  Browse through the list until you find Mario Kart 64, then press "A."
