How to Get the Green Hat in Super Mario 64

In "Super Mario 64," Metal Mario is considered the third transformation and the character is heavy and metallic. With the green cap, you can defeat the enemies by simple walking through them. At the same time, you can walk through the fire streams without damage or you can walk underwater and avoid currents. The green hat area can be found in the left door in the basement, also known as the Hazy Maze Cave. Metal cap is one way to stand the flow of current while lessening the risk of being ejected from the level.

Instructions

  Pass the first five levels. You should have at least eight stars to get the metal cap.

  Find the watery area in the basement and look for the ledge door.

  Do a long jump across to pass the gap within the course. You should also go past the boulders and look for the elevator.

  Bend over the big monster by performing the ground pound [A+Z keys] after swimming though the lake.

  Run over the monster's head.

  Go to the ledge door and fall in a black thing. It will turn you into a Metal Mario.

  Run over the bad guys and look for the switch at the end of the tunnel.
- 8
  Activate the green cap by pressing the switch.
