How to Get Locked Characters on Super Smash Brothers for Nintendo 64

"Super Smash Bros." on the Nintendo 64 is a game that allows you to play as some of your favorite characters from Nintendo's past. Play as characters like Link from Zelda, Mario, Donkey Kong and Yoshi to play in nine different world settings. "Super Smash Bros." is a mix between traditional Mario Brothers and a fighting game. The game offers four unlockable characters: Jigglypuff, Captain Falcon, Ness and Luigi. To unlock these characters requires success at different sections of the game in very specific ways.

Instructions

- 1
  Unlock Jigglypuff by beating the game in one-player mode and defeating him when challenged. This may be accomplished with any character, any difficulty and any number of lives remaining. The Japanese version of the game requires you to defeat the game in less than 2- minutes without continuing.

  Unlock Captain Falcon by beating the game in one player mode on any difficulty level in under 20 minutes and defeating him when challenged. Any character may be used with any number of lives remaining. The Japanese version does not have the time requirement.

  Unlock Ness by defeating the game on the normal difficulty setting with at least three lives remaining and defeating Ness when challenged. There are no continues allowed during gameplay to unlock Ness.

  Unlock Luigi by playing bonus game 1, "Break the target" with each of the original eight characters. This can be completed in bonus one practice. Defeat Luigi when challenged. If you lose to Luigi, replay the bonus game with any character. Unlocked characters cannot be used to obtain Luigi.
