The Sega Mega Drive, also known as Sega Genesis, is a game console that came out in 1989 to compete with Nintendo's original Nintendo and Super Nintendo consoles. It was the most popular 16-bit video game console from 1990 to 1992, when Nintendo challenged with its next-generation system. The Sega Mega Drive needs Mega Drive games to work properly.

Instructions

    • 1

      Plug the Sega Mega Drive's component cables into the back of your TV. They will connect to the red, yellow and white ports. Plug the other end of the component cables into the Sega Mega Drive.

      Plug the controllers into the controller ports on the front of the Sega Mega Drive.

      Plug the Sega Mega Drive into a power outlet.

      Put a Sega Mega Drive game cartridge into the top of the device. Make sure the artwork on the game cartridge is facing forward. Push the game cartridge down.

      Turn on the TV and push the "Power" button on the Sega Mega Drive.
