"Mortal Kombat," the first in the fighting game series, featured ending moves known as "Fatalities" that the winning character used to further destroy the opposing figure. Each of the seven characters had his own fatality, and Sub-Zero's involved his freezing abilities. The game was available on Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis, so the button combinations necessary to pull off the attack were slightly different. They both required Sub-Zero to be the same amount of distance from his victim.

Defeat your opponent twice to initiate "Fatality Mode." Wait for the "Finish Him!" signal before doing anything else.

Enter "Forward," "Down," "Foward" and "Y" for the SNES. Enter "Forward," "Down," "Foward" and "A" for the Sega Genesis.
