How to Read an SNES Data Cartridge

The SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System) was released in the U.S. in 1991. It replaced the older NES and had 16-bit graphics, 512Kb of audio RAM and many Nintendo exclusive games, such as Super Metroid, Super Mario World and Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. SNES games come on SNES data cartridges. The only legal way to read the SNES data cartridges is to put them in an SNES game console.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug the SNES game console into an outlet and plug the red, yellow and white component plugs into the component ports on the back of your TV. Plug the other end of the component ports into your SNES.

    • 2

Place the SNES data cartridge into the SNES and push it down.

    • 3

Press up on the "Start" button and the SNES will read the SNES data cartridge.
