Building Parks
Open the game and start a new game or continue an existing one. There is an in-game tutorial which you can use to learn the basics. Load the theme park level.
Open the "Rides" menu, select a ride, and place it on the map somewhere. Place the entrance and exit for the ride on the edges of the ride.
Build a path from the park's main thoroughfare to the new ride. Between the path and the ride, build a line area using the tool in the paths menu
Click the ride to bring up its context menu on the lower-right corner of the map. Click the yellow "Test" button on the ride, and let the ride complete its test cycle. Spend a few minutes working on other elements in the park.
Build a concession stand. Build it near a park, or build a path to the stand.
Click the stand to bring up its context menu, and click the green button to begin running it. Repeat this process with the ride you selected. Both will start attracting customers and bringing you money.
Build a roller coaster using either a pre-selected design from the Roller coaster menu, or bring up the Roller Coaster Design tool. For more information on the tool, see the section on "Roller coaster designer."
Build new paths, decorations, rides and stands by selecting them from the menus and placing them on the map. Remember that you need to test and open the rides and concessions in order to actually earn money from them.
Hire staff to maintain the park and run the rides and stands. Use the tools on the menu to hire new staff and manage the work they do.
Hit the Esc key to bring up the pause menu, where you can refer to the goal for the scenario. Reach that goal to win the scenario.
Roller Coaster Designer
Open the Roller Coaster menu and select "Build Custom Coaster" to open the Roller Coaster Designer tool. You can use the "Build Custom Coaster" function in a game, but the "Roller Coaster Designer" tool gives you a clear space to build with no guests or other distractions.
Click on the map to place the station platform. This is where guests will get on the coaster and ride. This is also the point from which the coaster will start building.
Click the straightaway tool to place straight tracks moving away from the station. Use the height tool to begin building a slope. Click the "chain" icon to make a motorized section of the track to bring the car up to the top of the coaster. Repeat a few times to build some momentum for the coaster.
Use the height tool to bring the ride back down, and start the roller coaster. Use the turn tools to turn the coaster to the left or right. You have to make gradual turns, using the several degrees of turning. At the bottom of hills, use banked curves to keep passengers in the car.
Repeat this process to build an exciting roller coaster. If you are unsure how to complete, or simply get bored of building, you can use the "Auto-complete" button to have the game finish your roller coaster for you.
