Cheats for Sega Mega Drive

The Sega Mega Drive or "Genesis," as it was dubbed in the United States, is a 16/32-bit retro video-gaming console. The Mega Drive was Sega's answer to the TurboGrafx-16 (PC Engine) and Nintendo's SNES. Released in 1989, the Mega Drive/Genesis sold more than 29 million units, making it Sega's most successful games console. The release of "Sonic the Hedgehog," Sega's most famous character, boosted the Mega Drive/Genesis' dominance as the market leader of the early and mid-1990s.

  Perform "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" cheats:
  
  Level Select: On the title screen select "Options." Select "Sound Test." Select the following sounds in this order: 19, 65, 9, 17. Return to the title screen, hold "A" and press "Start" for level select.
  
  Extra Continues: Enter the "Level Select" cheat. At the title screen select "Options," then "Sound Test." Enter sounds 1, 1, 2, 4, pressing "C" between each selection. Choose the "Player Select" option and press "Start."
  
  Super Sonic or Tails: Enter the "Level Select" cheat. At the title screen select "Options" and "Sound Test." Enter sounds 4, 1, 2, 6, pressing "C" between each selection. Now select any level and collect 50 rings to activate "Super Sonic."

  Perform "Streets of Rage" (also known as "Bare Knuckle") cheats:
  
  Enable Cheat Mode: On the title screen, select "Options." Hold "Right", "A," "B" and "C" simultaneously on controller 2 and press "Start" on controller 1. You will now have access to all the levels and game play with seven lives.
  
  More Continues: On the title screen, press, "Left," "Left," "B," "B," "B," "C," "C," "C," "Start."
  
  Unlock hidden options: On the Title Screen, press "Start" on controller 2. On controller 2, select "Options." Hold "A" and "B" on controller 2 and press "Start" on controller 1. The "Easiest" and "Mania" difficulty levels will now be available.

  Perform "Mickey Mouse: World of Illusion" cheats:
  
  No Collision Detection: Hold "A," "B" and "C" and press "Start." Mickey will now be able to fly through walls, opponents and items. Repeat this cheat to return to normal mode.
  
  More Lives: press "Start" at the end of a level while the score is being calculated.
  
  Easy Points: In Stage 1 of Level 1, keep swinging on the vines. Mickey is invincible on vines and you can collect easy points until you have 10 extra lives.
