How to Use Intellivision on HD TV

The Intellivision, a video game system released by Mattel in 1979, still has a fairly devoted cult following that supports the system and collects old games. However, playing these games on modern HDTVs can be tricky, since the connection port used by the Intellivision is no longer supported by most television manufacturers. To connect an Intellivision to today's HDTVs you need to purchase a special cable adapter.

     Unplug your Intellivision and television.

     Connect the A/V cable that came with your Intellivision a/v connection port on the back of your system.

     Connect a coaxial (F-type) to RCA adapter to the other end of the Intellivision cable. Connect the other end of this adapter to the coaxial connection on the back of your television set.

     Plug the Intellivision and TV back in and turn them on.
