How to Play the Original Mario Bros Game for Nintendo on the PC for Free

In 1985 "Super Mario Brothers" made its first appearance on the Nintendo Entertainment System. Two players can take turns playing the game as Mario and Luigi as they traverse seven worlds to stop King Koopa and save Princess Toadstool. Every major Nintendo console features a port of the game but you can also play it for free on your computer. The classic "Super Mario Bros." is available as a Flash game online and players can also find new twists on the classic game play.

Instructions

  1. Triplets and Us: Super Mario Bros.

      Click "The 80's" on the sidebar of the Triplets and Us website. Click "Arcade Games" from the list that appears. Select "Super Mario Bros." under "Classic 80's Java Games."

      Click the game screen so it recognizes your keyboard.

      Highlight "1 Player" or "2 Players" and press "Enter" to start the game.

      Move right and left with the directional arrows and press "X" to jump and "Z" to shoot fireballs when powered up.

    Super Mario Bros. Deluxe

      Click "Online Games" from the main page of MoFunZone.com. Click "Classic/Arcade Games" from the listed categories and select "Super Mario Bros. Deluxe."

      Click "Play This Game" to open the game in a new browser window. Click and drag on the bottom-right corner of the window to expand the game screen.

      Highlight "Original 1985" and press the space bar. Press the arrows left and right to select a "New" file and press "X."

      Press "X" to begin the game. The levels are the same as the original game but divided into a world map as in "Super Mario World."

      Move Mario right and left with the directional arrows. Press "X" to jump and press "Z" to shoot fireballs.

    Super Mario Bros. Crossover

      Click "Games" from the Exploding Rabbit homepage. Select "Super Mario Bros. Crossover" from the list of available games.

      Click the game screen. Highlight "New Game" and press "Enter."

      Press the "Down" arrow on your keyboard and highlight "Normal" then press "Enter." Highlight "Play as One Character" and press "Enter."

      Move the cursor to select Mario and press "Z." You can also select other Nintendo characters to play as but this will change the basic game.

      Navigate right and left by pressing the corresponding arrows on your keyboard. Press "Z" to jump and press "X" to shoot fireballs when you obtain the power flower.
