Super Mario 3 Cheats for Unlimited Lives

World 1-2

• In World 1-2, start the game as Super Mario or Raccoon Mario, but do not use Fire Mario. Mario will need to be large enough to stomp the Goombas, but if he is Fire Mario, he will accidentally kill them instead. Get unlimited lives by walking to the left of World 1-2 until you come to a pipe that drops Goombas onto the ground. Press and hold down the "A" button, and position Mario so that he will land on the head of a Goomba every time he floats down. Keep hitting one Goomba after another without touching the floor, and after six hits, each enemy will award Mario a free life.

World 2 Fortress

• Begin the level as Raccoon Mario. Walk to the right of the screen until you see three bone enemies in the fortress. Press and hold down the "A" button and then float down slowly until you land on the head of the first enemy. When you come down a second and third time, aim for the heads of the other two bone enemies. After you stomp each enemy twice, Mario will begin to receive an unlimited number of free lives.

World 3-9

• When the level starts, walk to the right of the screen. Fight the enemies, collect coins and avoid bullets until you see a turtle. Stomp the turtle and pick him up. Walk to the right until you come to the second and third cannons. Kick the shell between the cannons. As a bullet exits, the shell will hit each one. Mario will receive a few points and then he will begin to receive free lives until he reaches the maximum 99 lives. There is only one turtle on the entire level, so try not to kill it. If you do, you will have to kill Mario so that you can restart the level with the one turtle.

World 8

• In any level of World 8 that contains a lot Bomb-ombs, Raccoon Mario can get extra lives by stomping on them, one after the other, without touching the floor.

World 7 Fortress

• In this level, start the game as Raccoon Mario or Tanooki Mario, or use a P-Wing before you enter the fortress. Go to the third column and jump to hit the blocks until you hit a P-Switch. All the blocks will turn into coins. If you are wearing any Mario suit that has a tail, fly around the room collecting coins until the coins turn back into blocks. Exit through the door below the blocks, and then come back to this room and all the blocks are in place again. Repeat this trick until time runs out or you have reached the maximum amount of free lives.
