How to Speed Up the Internet on a PSP

Your PSP gets a wireless Internet signal from your router. Usually, there isn't much you can do about the speed of the signal, because it has a lot to do with the signal itself. However, there are a few different ways that you can troubleshoot slow connections to get faster Internet on your PSP.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug your router in to your modem with an Ethernet cable, even if it's a wireless router that you do not have to have connected. Sometimes, a more solid connection for your router will create a faster signal.

    • 2

Turn off your computers or any other devices that are connected to the Internet, or unplug them from the router if they are connected with Ethernet. When only your PSP is accessing the Internet, the signal itself will be stronger, and it will be faster.

    • 3

Call your Internet company to ask if you have the newest versions of your modem and router, and if the firmware they have on their end is the highest possible version. You might not be able to afford new modems or routers, but the company can upgrade the firmware for free, which will create a faster signal.

Use the Internet on the PSP only when you need to. If you turn the Internet off when you are not using it, it won't slow down your PSP.
