The console only lasted in the states for three years but lasted in Japan for almost six years. In order to play imported games on an American Sega Saturn, you must utilize a special cartridge.

  Purchase an Action Replay 4M Plus cartridge, which is commonly referred to as the 5-in-1 cartridge. These are available on online auction sites or from a few classic video game dealers.

  Insert the Action Replay 4M Plus cartridge into your Sega Saturn. You need clean connectors on the machine and the cartridge itself for the cartridge to function properly.

  Insert your imported Sega Saturn game into your Sega Saturn. The Action Replay automatically allows you to play games from any country on a machine from any country. If the cartridge isn't functioning properly, clean the contacts and reinsert the cartridge.
