How to Save Games to a Classic XBox Memory Card

The original Xbox was released in 2001 and contained an 8GB (eight gigabyte) hard drive for saving game and music files. A memory unit could also be used for saving games in order to transfer game data from one console to another. Using the original Xbox memory unit is a simple task as it works much like any other memory unit.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the memory unit into one of the memory unit slots on the back of the Xbox controller.

    • 2

Plug the controller into one of the controller ports on the front of the Xbox console.

    • 3

Turn on your Xbox with the game you wish to save and play through it until you reach a save point.

    • 4

Select "Memory Unit A" or "Memory Unit B" (depending on which slot you placed the memory unit in) as the save device when prompted to save your game. The game file should save to the memory unit.
