How to Hook Up an Original Nintendo

The Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) is an 8-bit video game console released in North America in 1985. The system boosted the video game home entertainment industry and offered popular games like ̶0;Super Mario Bros.̶1; and ̶0;The Legend of Zelda.̶1; In order to hook up the original NES system, you must have the RF switch adapter and AC power adapter that comes with the system. With these in hand, you can easily hook up the console to your television.

Instructions

      Find the VHF IN or cable connector plug in located on the back of your TV. Remove the cable wire from the back of your TV.

      Connect the short cable wire on your RF switch to your TV̵7;s VHF IN plug in on the back of your TV.

      Connect the cable wire that was connected to your TV in the ANT plug to your RF switch. Make sure all of the cables are connected tightly.

      Plug in the thin wire attached to the RF switch to the RF Out port on the back of your NES.

      Set the ̶0;3/4̶1; switch to the ̶0;3̶1; or ̶0;4̶1; to correspond with the channel you want to play your NES on.

      Plug in your NES controller into the front of the console. Plug in the AC adapter into the back of your NES and then plug the other end of the AC adapter into a wall outlet.

      Insert a game into the front loader of the NES by pressing the game down into the system. Press the ̶0;Power̶1; button on the front of the NES.

      Turn your TV on and go to channel 3 or 4. The game will be visible on your screen and you can begin playing.
