How to Get the Metal Hat in Super Mario 64

Super Mario 64 is a 3-D platform game developed and released by Nintendo for its Nintendo 64 console. The game again revolves around Mario, who must rescue the Princess and liberate her castle from the forces of Bowser. One of the power-ups available in the game is a "Metal Cap" that allows Mario to withstand heavy winds and strong water currents. To get this cap, you must perform a few tasks.

Instructions

- 1
  Get enough stars to gain access to the Hazy Maze Cave world. The entrance to this world is located in the castle basement.

  Enter the Hazy Maze Cave world. Go down the path and turn left when the path splits. Stay on this path until you reach the underwater lake.

  Jump on the lake monster's back and get on its head to steer it. Move to the double doors on the other side of the underground lake and go through them.

  Jump into the liquid metal pit and you will be transported to a new area. Get the metal cap available in this area and jump into the river below you.
- 5
  Walk upstream until you make it to an island in the middle of the river. Hit the green switch on this island and metal caps will become available in all of the game's metal cap boxes.
