Game Cheats for Zelda on Nintendo 64

The classic "Legend of Zelda" games for the Nintendo 64, "Ocarina of Time" and "Majora's Mask" don't have any traditional cheat codes for you to type in as an easy solution. Instead you'll have to seek out hidden items, special weapons and helpful characters to enhance your abilities.
  1. Get All Six Bottles

    • In "Majora's Mask," collect all six bottles to maximize your ability to carry valuables like fairies, insects, hot spring water and other necessary quest items. You'll automatically get the first bottle when you get potion for the sick witch in the swamp before the first dungeon. Complete the side-quest at Romani's Ranch for the second bottle. Enter and place first in the Goron races for a bottle filled with gold dust. Place first in the beaver races in the Great Bay region for the fourth bottle. You'll get the fifth bottle after beating the cemetery side-quest. The final bottle is your reward for completing Madame Aroma's side-quest near the end of the game.

    Get the Gilded Sword

    • In "Majora's Mask," the Gilded Sword is the most powerful weapon (except for the Great Fairy's Sword, but that is a C-Button item). Complete the Snowhead Temple. Now that most of the snow has thawed, you can go to the smithies hut and pay them 100 rupees to upgrade your sword to the Razor Sword. Note that you will lose the Razor Sword if you travel back in time, so you'll need to upgrade it to the Gilded Sword before the end of day three. Enter the Goron Races and place first and you'll be awarded a bottle filled with gold dust. Take it to the smithies hut and they will upgrade your sword to the Gilded Sword. The Gilded Sword is a permanent upgrade and will not disappear when you travel through time.

    Find the Great Fairies

    • In "Ocarina of Time," find the six great fairy fountains to gain magical spells and upgraded abilities. Find the first great fairy at the top of Death Mountain after beating Dodongo's Cavern and you'll get Link's signature spin attack. The second great fairy is just past the Hyrule Castle gate. Blow up the boulder and head inside the cavern to learn the spell Din's Fire. As adult Link head to the frozen Zora's Domain and blow up the wall near the boulder in Jabu-Jabu's lake. Enter the cavern to learn the defensive spell Farore's Wind. After beating the Fire Temple, use the Megaton Hammer to break the boulder outside the temple's entrance. Inside you'll find a great fairy and have your magic bar increased. Find the crack in the wall between two palm trees near the entrance to the Spirit Temple. Bomb it and enter to learn the healing spell Nayru's Love. Use the Gold Gauntlets to move the giant pillar outside Ganondorf's castle to find the final great fairy and gain the half damage ability.
