The Atari 2600 is arguably responsible for the popularization of home gaming. It was first mass manufactured in the early 1980s and was wildly popular among consumers until the mid 1980s, when sales began to decline. However, many antique electronics collectors, and even fans of video game nostalgia, still own the console. If you're one of these people, but you've damaged or misplaced your Atari power source, don't worry, because you can still find one if you know where to look.

  Stop by your local video game store to see if they carry a replacement power source for the Atari 2600. They may not have one on hand, but there is a good chance that they can order one for you.

  Try shopping at the official website of Atari, atari2600.com. Here, the site sells everything from coaxial cables to entire consoles.

  Look on auction sites, such as eBay or ubid.com to see if there are any used power sources you can buy for cheap. Although Atari 2600 power sources usually run for $15 or less, you might be able to find one on an auction site for only a couple of dollars.

  Plug your new power source's input end into the Atari 2600's power output jack. Set the voltage to 9v, put the POV, or polarity switch, in the center and set the channel number to three or four, depending on what channel you want to set your TV to. Plug the DC end of your power source into the wall and turn on your Atari.
