How to Use the Truck Trailers in GTA IV

Truck trailers are found in Grand Theft Auto IV at various locations throughout Liberty City. There is a parking lot off of Union Drive West on the western side of Algonquin, near the Burger Shot and the docks where several are parked. You can climb onto the trailers, and actually enter some of them, however it is not possible to manually connect them to truck cabs as you could in Grand Theft Auto III. The truck trailers are used as strategic cover during gun battles. You will also climb up the back of a moving truck, and use the trailer to traverse your way to the cab during the Truck Hustle mission. The Truck Hustle mission becomes available once a Phil Bell "PB" icon appears on your map. Drive to this location, and enter the icon to begin the Truck Hustle mission.

Instructions

  Drive to Leftwood using your map GPS, and enter the blue marker to trigger the arrival of the truck. Approach the truck slowly, then shoot the gang members who follow using the wall as cover. Approach the truck again once you have eliminated the gang members.

  As the truck begins to move, Niko will grab the rear of the truck. Press the controller buttons according to the sequence presented on screen to climb up the truck's trailer. The driver will make sharp turns in an effort to throw you from the truck and escape.

  Enter the button sequences presented on screen to crawl across the top of the trailer towards the cab, while the truck is not turning. Use the controller stick to roll Niko, and center yourself on the top of the trailer during sharp turns.

  Once you reach the front of the truck, Niko will enter the cab, and dispose of the driver. Drive the truck safely to the old mansion destination on your GPS map in order to successfully complete the mission.
