Disney's Aladdin
Disney̵7;s Aladdin was based on the 1992 movie. The game was a joint venture of Disney Interactive and Virgin Interactive. The player controls the character Aladdin, who must go through a series of confrontations before he battles Jafar, the villain of the movie and game. Primary gameplay involved fighting with swords and jumping over ledges. Aladdin collects gems that prolong his life. A bonus round involves the genie in a game of luck surrounding the collection of apples or extra lives. In another bonus round, the player controls Abu, Aladdin̵7;s pet monkey.
Disney's The Jungle Book
Disney̵7;s The Jungle Book is based on the 1960s movie. The game was developed by Virgin Interactive. The player controls the character of the young boy cub Mowgli, who attempts to elude his enemies by running, jumping over obstacles and swinging on vines. Among Mowgli's weapons is a banana shooter. The game was notable for including music from the soundtrack of the film. The player is given just seven minutes for completion of each level.
Disney's The Lion King
Disney̵7;s The Lion King was based on the Academy Award-winning animated film and features side-scrolling gameplay. Developed by Virgin Interactive, the game allows users to control several players including Timon and Simba, as a cub and an adult lion. The game was received some criticism for its high level of difficulty. The game moves toward a climactic showdown that takes place between adult Simba and the villain, Scar, Simba̵7;s uncle.
Disney's Pocahontas
Disney Interactive worked in conjunction with Funcom to develop this game. The player controls either Pocahontas or her pet, Meeko. Players collect abilities by helping various animals. The game essentially followed the plot of the movie but added extra scenes and subplots as a method for creating ways to collect special abilities.
