How to Clean a Super Nintendo System

The vintage game system Super Nintendo Entertainment System, sometimes called Super Nintendo or SNES, was released in Japan in 1990 and in the United States in 1991. Though it is now very outdated, many people still hold strong to the game system that graced their childhood after school hours. Cleaning your Super Nintendo is simple and an important task in order to keep the system in top-notch working order.

Instructions

    • 1

Unplug all the cords on the Super Nintendo. Set the controllers aside. Remove any game cartridge that may be in the console (these should never be kept in the console while not in use).

    • 2

Spray some cleaner on your towel and gently wipe all the surfaces of the console. Take extra care not to get any liquid into the hole where the game cartridge goes or the controller holes. If you do get liquid inside, your Super Nintendo could be ruined.

    • 3

If your Super Nintendo has recently turned slightly yellow, it's not dirty. It is, in fact, due to the type of plastic that was used to manufacture the system. Take extra care of your system. Your cleaning will help preserve the system for even longer.
