How to Gold Star a Song on Rock Band 2

"Rockband 2," for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii, is a music rhythm video game that allows you to play the drums, guitar, bass and/or vocals. With four different difficulty levels, Expert is the hardest but it is the most rewarding. If you are the best of the best, you get a gold star, which is the biggest achievement in the game.

Instructions

Play on Expert mode. The only way to get a gold star for a song is to play the song on the hardest level. If you are playing with a group of friends, everyone has to be on Expert mode.

    • 2

Receive 98 percent. When you have finished a song, "Rock Band" will give you a percentage on your performance. The percentage, in order to get a gold star, has to be 98 percent or above. If you are playing with a group of friends, everyone needs to be 98 percent or higher. Getting a 98 percentage means that you have made one error and that all of the rest of your notes were prefect.

    • 3

Score those points. On top of the Expert difficulty and getting 98 percent on your song, you additionally have to get more points. There is a set amount of points you need to get for a 5 star performance. For a gold star performance you need to get a 5 star performance times 1.5. For example, for the song "21 Guns" by Green Day, for a 5 star performance you need 1222117 points, but to get a gold star, you need 1864014 points. The points, probably the easiest of the three demands, can be achieved through using your star power (a feature that allows you to get an extreme amount of points.)
