How to Connect an Atari 2600 to Your TV
Attach a single-cable RCA wire to the Atari. On the back of the Atari, there is an outlet that will fit the connection of a single cable RCA.
Slip on the RCA female to F-Type Coaxial male adapter. This transforms the end of the cable to the familiar looking cable connection. If you television has this adapter on the back, then you are set to go. If not, proceed to the next step.
Connect your newly constructed coaxial wire to the RF Modulator. This should have several options of input, including the coaxial, and several options of output. Depending on the RF modulator, you will have output options such as Coaxial, RCA (red, yellow, white) or S-Video.
Choose the best output option that is compatible with your television. Although graphical clarity is not necessarily an issue with the Atari, the better the connection you have, the less "noise" (visual and auditory) you will get. RCA is traditionally better than coaxial, and S-Video is a step up from RCA.
Change the channel on your television. The factory setting is either channel 2, 3 or 4, depending on the model.
