How to Play Dance Dance Revolution With 2 Players on 1 Mat

"Dance Dance Revolution," or "DDR," is a popular arcade game that uses a dance mat or pad. To play the game, the player must step on the mat's symbols as they fall across the video game screen. Although playing by yourself can be fun, it is even more entertaining while playing with a partner. It is possible to play "Dance Dance Revolution" with a partner on one mat.

Instructions

    • 1

Select a lower difficulty. Go to the main menu and choose either beginner or medium. Expert or hard can be difficult for one person, so with two people it may be too difficult to play.

    • 2

Take turns playing with a partner. Choose to either alternate during the game or between games. Switch players during the breakdown of a song so it is easier for the second player to join in. A breakdown is when the song slows down for a period then picks up speed again.

    • 3

Divide the pad in half. Play the top and left arrows and have the second player play the bottom and right arrows. Communicate to each other to make the movements easier.

    • 4

Play with a controller. Go to the main menu and choose to compete against each other or work together as a team. Practice using a controller on practice mode if you are not used to playing this way. Alternate so that each player gets to use the mat and controller equally.
