How to Get Unlimited Extra Lives in Super Mario Bros for NES

Super Mario Bros for the original Nintendo may seem like an easy game, but there are always those days when you underestimate your gaming skills and you just keep getting that nasty "Game Over" screen. And with only three lives for Mario to start with, it might not take long for you to get there. But there is a secret cheat that can allow you to earn as many lives as you want, thus providing hours of Super Mario Bros game time without even one "Game Over."

Instructions

- 1
  Play Super Mario Bros through to World 3.
- 2
  Find and eat a mega mushroom when you get to Level 1 of World 3 so that you become Super Mario.

  Complete the level, and when you get to the staircase at the end of the level before the flag, wait for the two turtles coming down the stairs.
- 4
  Jump over the first turtle and on top of the second turtle, so that it bounces away from you and then back toward you.
- 5
  Jump on top of the second turtle when it gets back to you, and stay on top the turtle until the turtle starts giving you 1-ups for every bounce.
