Instructions
Stage 1
Begin Stage 8-1 by stomping on the Buzzy Beetle and kicking his shell, which will take out the six Goombas in front of you. Go past the Piranha Plant tube and defeat or avoid the two Koopa Troopas before jumping over five gaps.
Go past six pipes and more enemies and you will encounter a set of pillars with a brick platform floating above and between them, which you will have to jump on in order to continue.
Cross more gaps before coming to a long platform. Bash the third brick from the left to reveal a Starman and run across three gaps, after which you will find another two Koopa Troopas and a stump you can jump over.
Leap across a pit where there are three Goombas on the other side. There will be more pipes ahead and a group of nine enemies you can run past. Climb and drop down from a staircase to get two coins. Jump over the pit, using an island as a stepping stone. Jump over the two stumps while minding the Koopa Troopa trapped between them.
Jump across the pit with a stepping stone only one block across. All that remains between you and the end of the level are four Koopa Troopas, two pipes and a broken staircase.
Stage 2
Run to the staircase and pause on the third step, where a Koopa Paratroopa will bounce over you.
Quickly climb the stairs. After dropping down from the staircase you will have to cross six gaps and avoid the Koopa Paratroopas.
Watch out for Bullet Bill cannons. Your best bet is to make running jumps for the platforms between the cannons.
Jump over a pipe and the following gap before making a running jump with enough momentum to carry you across the pit.
Jump over two more pipes and a pit preceded by a Bullet Bill cannon. Then, climb a staircase that Goombas are descending. The staircase is followed by another Bullet Bill cannon and then a partially destroyed staircase that leads to the end of the level.
Stage 3
Avoid two Bullet Bill cannons and jump onto the pipe, then make a running jump in order to get across to the platform. The platform is followed by a pit with a staircase in the middle and a Bullet Bill cannon at the end of the pit.
Jump over a pillar and then onto a double pillar, which you can use to jump onto a floating platform. From there, you can leap across the pit split by a pipe in the middle.
Stomp on the Koopa Troopa and kick his shell in order to clear out the Hammer Brothers that are ahead. Avoid the shell when it rebounds.
Jump over another pipe and fight or avoid two more Hammer Brothers.
Climb the isolated blocks that form a rough staircase and lead to the end of the level.
Stage 4
Jump over the lava pit and two pipes and avoid or defeat the three Goombas after the second pipe. Jump over the next lava pit using a platform in the middle (that is only just visible) and enter the next pipe.
Jump over another pipe, avoid or fight the two Buzzy Beetles, jump over two more pipes and avoid or fight the four Koopa Paratroopas. Enter the next pipe, which is accessible by way of a floating block.
Jump over two pipes and across a lava pit before entering the third pipe, after which you find yourself in an underwater area where you must avoid the Bloopers and Firebars before entering the pipe at the end.
Jump over the pipe, avoid or defeat the Hammer Brother and jump across the lava pit.
Defeat Bowser with five fireballs or the axe behind him.
