Tips
Press "Left" or "Right" on the directional pad to dodge left or right. Throw right punches with the "A" button and left punches with the "B" button. Press "Up" on the directional pad in conjunction with the "A" or "B" button to throw punches to your opponent's head. If you do not press "Up" while punching, you will throw body punches instead. Hold "Down" to block, or double-tap "Down" to duck.
Dodge your opponent's punches and counter with punches of your own. If you punch your opponent immediately after performing a successful dodge, you will inflict extra damage.
Master counter-punches to gain an edge over your opponents. If your opponent throws a left-handed punch, counter with a right-handed one to do extra damage, and vice versa. You can do greater damage by hitting your opponent just before he is about to throw a punch. For example, when an opponent is about to throw a right-handed punch, he will lean to his right side. When you notice him leaning, immediately throw a left-handed punch to catch him off guard. Counter-punches will sometimes earn you a star, which you can use to throw powerful uppercuts with the "Start" button.
Use quick dodges to increase your advantage in a fight. To perform a quick dodge to the left, first press "Left" to perform a dodge. Immediately upon dodging, press "Right" to bring your body back quickly, allowing you to counter-punch your opponent before he has time to block. The opposite is true for a quick dodge to the right.
Trick your opponent with a gutter move by first pressing "Up" to ready yourself for a punch to the head. When your opponent puts his gloves up to guard his head, quickly release "Up" and throw a punch to his body. If your timing is quick enough, he will be caught off guard and you will do extra damage.
Learn each opponent's moves and techniques. Many opponents have "tells" that will tip you off when they are about to throw a punch or use a special move. Piston Honda, for example, blinks before he throws a left jab. Study each opponent's fighting style to learn his moves and predict his attacks.
Tyson
The final bout is against Mike Tyson himself. Do not try to hit him for the first 90 seconds of the bout. During this time, his punches are extremely powerful and will knock you down immediately if they connect. Dodge any punches that come your way. If you survive for 90, he will become tired and his punches will lose power. Use this time to begin attacking him.
