How to Convert Videos to PSP Format

Converting a video into the PSP format can be done on a Macintosh or PC computer using a software conversion program. A number of programs are available to do this and some are even free. These conversion programs are all relatively easy to use, working in a similar fashion to convert a video file to the PSP format.

  • Toast Titanium 10 software program for the Macintosh
  • Wondershare Video Converter Platinum for the PC

  1. Converting a video into the PSP format on a Macintosh

      Run the Toast Titanium program and select the "Convert" tab from the upper left side of the program's window.

      Drag the video to be converted into the right side of the program's window.

      Press the red "Record" button on the lower right hand side of the program's window.

      Select Sony PSP from the Device drop down menu of the "Player Setup" that now appears.

      Select the quality desired (Automatic, High, Fastest, Custom) from the "Quality" drop down menu.

      Select where the converted file will be saved to by selecting "iTunes," "Movies Folder," "Desktop," or "Other" from the "Save To" drop down menu.

      Press the "Convert" button on the lower right hand side of the "Player Setup" window. Toast now converts the file to the PSP format.

    Converting a video into the PSP format on a PC

      Run the Wondershare Video Converter program and drag the video file into the open space on the program's left side.

      Click on the "Settings" tab at the bottom center of the program. Then click on "Format Preset" in the "Settings" window that appears.

      Select "PSP, PS3" in the left side of the window and then the "PSP Video MPEG-4" video format in the right side. Click "OK" to close the Settings window

      Click on "Start" in the program's lower right hand corner to begin the conversion to the PSP video format.
