Tunnels
Each board is a maze filled with dots that must be collected in order to advance to the next level. While collecting dots, players must avoid the ghosts or they lose a life. If the ghosts are close on your tail, slow them down by using a tunnel on the left or right side of the board. The ghosts are delayed for an extra second in the tunnel, so it will give you plenty of time to get away before they catch up. Remember to watch the other side of the tunnel to avoid any waiting ghosts.
Power Pills
Each level in Ms. Pac-Man features four power pills. The pills are located in each corner and turn the ghosts into blue ghosts that Ms. Pac-Man can eat. Spread out the use of power pills and only use them as you arrive at them. Eating multiple pills in a row will waste time and make the level more challenging. Eat as many blue ghosts as possible to gain points, but make sure you stick to a path full of the dots to clear the level.
Ghosts
Ghosts are on a random path around the board, but they will gravitate towards a player. When ghosts are near, stay near open paths as much as possible because multiple ghosts can easily trap you and force you out of a life. During the beginning of a level, you will have around five to ten seconds before all the ghosts are released, so take advantage of it by getting the hardest dots first and stay away from the power pills.
Fruit
Earn a high score by collecting as much fruit as possible. The fruit appears randomly within a level and will travel across the screen. Bananas are worth the most at 5,000 points, but other significant fruits include Apples at 1,000 points and Pears at 2,000.
Extra Lives
The only way to earn extra lives in the game is by earning 10,000 points. The quickest way to do this is by eating a Power Pill and eating all four ghosts for a total of 3,000 points. If you do that with three of the four Power Pills, then you will already be at 9,000 points.
