Things You'll Need
Instructions
Use a Phillips screwdriver remove each of the six screws located on the bottom of the console and place them to the side. Do not apply too much pressure, or you can strip the screws.
Turn the console back over, taking care not to let it open or fall apart. Once it is right-side up, take off the top portion of the Nintendo. You will see a silver cover attached to the console by seven screws. Remove each of these screws and the cover, then lift the circuit board out of the console and turn it over.
Remove the next silver cover. At the top of the board will be a black connector, which is where your game connects when it is placed within the system. Remove this connector and notice that there are silver pins running horizontally across the board.
Use an eraser to gently rub the silver pins. Apply a small amount of cleaning solvent to a cotton swab and run it along the pins. Follow this with a dry cotton swab, making sure there is no moisture left behind.
Reassemble the system, making sure each silver cover is in place and screwed in securely. Once the Nintendo has been placed back together, power it on and begin playing games.
