Beating the First Map
Travel to the right on the map screen to enter opening tank level. The level auto-scrolls to the left and is filled with cannons and Rocky Wrenches. Jump across the tops of the cannons to avoid getting caught in their fire. Jump on the Boomerang Brother at the end to complete the level.
Travel to the right on the map screen to enter the ship level. The ship level also contains many cannons and Rocky Wrenches, though the level also bobs up and down. Continue to jump over and across the cannons to pass the level. Jump on the Boom-Boom at the end to complete the level.
Enter the pipe at the top of the map screen to travel to the second map.
Beating the Second Map
Travel to the left on the second map screen and pass over the five portals. Each portal has a random chance of transporting you to one of three levels. Each level is short, consists mainly of platform-jumping and contains a treasure box with a magic leaf at the end. Beat any levels that you are transported to.
Use a magic leaf from your item box and enter the Airship level on the left side of the map screen. Jump across the airship's platforms, using your glide ability to give you extra distance. Jump on the flying Boom-Boom at the end of the airship to complete the level.
Enter the pipe at the left side of the screen to travel to the third map. The third map is covered in darkness and only allows you to see a small part of the map at one time.
Beating the Third Map and the Fortress Maze
Travel one space to the right and one space down on the map to locate the first level. Use another magic leaf from your item box if you lost your power in the airship, and enter the level.
Get a running start from the first stretch of ground and fly to the right to find a hidden pipe. Enter the pipe and hit the large "?" block to receive three green mushrooms. Proceed through the level to the right, making sure to avoid being hit by cannons, and hit the card box at the end of the level to complete it.
Travel one space to the left and one space down on the map and enter the second level. Proceed through the level to the right, making sure to avoid the sand pits and the Angry Sun. Hit the card box at the end of the level to complete it.
Travel three spaces to the right and one space up on the map and enter the fortress maze level, which must be traversed in a specific way to pass.
Run to the right and enter the last door in the room, which will be encased in a group of yellow blocks shaped like an "H". Proceed to the right and enter the fifth door you pass, which will rest on top of three blue blocks. Continue to the right and hit the "P" switch. Quickly run to the right and enter the white door at the end of the room, before the "P" switch runs out of time.
Walk to the right and fall through the small hole. Walk to the left, jump over the Thwomp, and hit the two yellow blocks, revealing another "P" switch. Hit the "P" switch and walk to the right. Enter the second white door that appears, which will rest on a blue block against the rightmost wall of the room.
Duck and let the conveyor belt take you to the room with the Boom-Boom. Jump on the Boom-Boom to complete the level.
Travel one space to the right, one space up, and two spaces to the left on the map and enter the pipe. You will travel to the fourth and final map.
Beating the Fourth Map and Bowser's Castle
Travel to the right on the map to enter the tank fleet level. The level will auto-scroll to the left and there will be cannons firing at you from above and below. Jump over and across the cannons to proceed through the level, and jump on the Boom-Boom at the end to complete it.
Travel to the right on the map to enter Bowser's castle.
In the first room, run to the right, past the guard statues and up the stairs. Use the gray platform to travel upward and proceed to the right, past the hotfoot and the roto-discs. In the room with falling platforms, use the platforms to reach the top of the room and enter the door in the upper right corner. Proceed to the right, past the statues and falling platforms and enter the rightmost door, which will take you to Bowser's chamber.
Avoid Bowser's fireballs by jumping over them or ducking under them. When Bowser jumps into the air to crush you, lure him into jumping over the brown bricks in the center of the room and run out of his way at the last second. This will cause him to smash through some of the bricks. Continue this process until Bowser smashes through enough of the bricks to fall through the hole.
