Games for the Sega Genesis are no longer manufactured, but used games are out there and quite easy to find if you look in the right places. For example, you can risk buying a used Genesis game from an online store like eBay or Amazon, but you won't know for sure how well the game works. You can sometimes purchase never-opened games from these stores, but you'll be paying around $50 for something you could get for under $20.

  Play old Genesis games online. There are Web sites that allow you to play certain classic games for free. Make sure that the Web site is legit and not an emulator, which is an illegal virtual console that allows you to play games for free.

  If you have a newer-generation gaming console, like the Nintendo Wii or PlayStation 2, you can find gaming collections of Genesis games that can be played on these consoles. For example, there are Sonic the Hedgehog collections for the newest consoles.

  Visit your local thrift stores and check out yard or garage sales. You have a very good chance of finding used Genesis games at places like Goodwill and the Salvation Army. If you find a game that you want, ask about the return policy and make sure you test out your game within the time frame.

  Find a classic-game retailer in your area, like Game Xchange, that sells new and used Genesis games. They may be a little pricier, but chances are that you'll find the game you are looking for.
