How to fix a scratched video game CD-ROM

If you own a bunch of video games then you have probably run into a few that give you problems. Either they won't load or they may crash in the middle of your game play. Before you run out and spend money on either a scratch repair kit or worse yet, a new video game, consider trying this method first. It is much cheaper and has awesome results.

Instructions

    • 1

Over a sink, apply about a nickel sized amount of dish detergent to the CD-ROM.

    • 2

Using warm water and a soft cloth carefully wipe the disc from the center toward the edge. Do not ever wipe the disc in circular motions.

    • 3

Rinse the disc well under water and pat dry with another cloth.

    • 4

Put the game into the console once it is dry to see if it is now working. Repeat the steps if it still has problems. Good luck and hope it works.
