How to Beat Mega Man 4

Take advantage of Mega Man's mega buster. Hold down the "B" button to keep the buster charged and release a power shot when you encounter enemies. The power shot will triple the amount of damage you do to foes.

Tackle the stages in this order:Toad ManBright ManPharaoh ManRing ManDust ManSkull ManDive ManDrill ManAs in all other Mega Man games you will use weapons obtained from bosses to more easily beat other bosses in the game. For example, use the Dust Crusher you get from Dust Man to beat Skull Man.

Find the new gadgets. Unlike previous items, these are not received when defeating certain bosses, but instead are hidden in the stages. The balloon adapter, which creates platforms, is found near the beginning of the Pharaoh Man level. To get it, jump over the first pit you encounter and run to the end of the section. To get the wire adapter, which works like a grappling hook, drop into the pit you see after beating the second whale in the Dive Man stage. Dodge the spiked walls during your fall to receive the adapter at the bottom.

Look for hidden energy pellets. You can find some hidden among the flowing water in stages with waterfalls.

Defeat Dr. Wily by using your arsenal. You will face three forms of him and must use different weapons each time. During the first fight, use either the Mega Buster or Dust Crusher. Fire at Dr. Wily while standing in front of the mouth of the skull. In the second stage of the battle, you can use the Mega Buster or the Drill Bomb. Detonate the bomb in front of the green light to do the maximum damage. Use the Pharaoh Shot in the final battle. Run around the stage to avoid the randomly appearing Dr. Wily and hit him with the shot when he appears on the screen.
