  Start with the normal difficulty. When you begin the game you have the option of choosing either "normal" or "difficult" settings. Until you get the hang of the game and are looking for a stronger challenge, we recommend beating the game on "normal" first.

  Tackle the robot bosses in this order:Metal ManFlash ManQuick ManWood ManAir ManCrash ManBubble ManHeat ManAs in other Mega Man games, certain bosses are vulnerable to the weapons you get from defeating other bosses. By following the above list, you will use the weapon obtained from the previous boss to defeat the next boss on the list. For example, you will use the Crash Bombs obtained from Crash Man to defeat Bubble Man.

  Use the Flash Stopper obtained from Flash Man to get through the Quick Man stage. This level is very difficult to get through without stopping time with the Flash Stopper, due to the laser beams that move across the latter part of the stage.

  Use your special gadgets to retrieve hard-to-reach items. As you complete stages, you will get the gadgets numbered 1, 2 and 3 from Dr. Light. Number 1 gives you a boost for a higher jump, while 2 provides a jet across the screen and 3 allows you to ride up walls. You will need, for example, the second gadget to obtain an energy tank in the Metal Man stage that is impossible to reach otherwise.

  Make the Metal Blade your standard weapon. You get this after beating Metal Man; unlike most other weapons you will, earn this one provides hundreds of shots before you deplete your ammo. The Metal Blade fires quickly and can be more effective than Mega Man's standard power buster.

  Defeat Dr. Wily by first knocking him out of his ship with repeated hits with the Metal Blade, then use the Bubble Lead on the alien while dodging it.
