How to Find the Valkyrie Bow in Chrono Trigger

The best weapons and armor you can find for the cast of characters in the Super Nintendo role-playing game Chrono Trigger are located inside sealed black boxes that are scattered in various locations across the world. You can find the powerful Valkyrie Bow inside the shattered remnants of an old castle if you travel back in time and have a carpenter repair the ruins.

  Play through the game until the time machine called the Epoch is outfitted with wings in the year 12,000 B.C.

  Use the Epoch to travel through time to the year 600 A.D. and land by the town called Choras.

  Go inside the tavern and talk to the town carpenter, who will complain that his expensive tools have been lost.

  Board the Epoch again and travel to the year 1,000 A.D. Speak with the carpenter in the present-day city of Choras and borrow his set of tools. Return to the year 600 A.D. and give the tools to the past carpenter so he can repair the ruins.

  Walk into the ruins and go to the northernmost room. Go up to the black box on the right side of the room and press your controller's action button to bring up a dialog box. Choose the option to leave the box alone, hen head outside and use the Epoch to go to the year 1,000 A.D. again.

  Return to the ruins and open the box you ignored in the past to receive the Valkyrie Bow.
