How to Gain the Grand Dream Triple Tech in Chrono Trigger

The Super Nintendo role playing game Chrono Trigger allows three members of the party to combine their physical and magical powers into a single "triple tech" attack. The characters Frog, Robo, and Marle can use a the very strong triple tech "Grand Dream" if they locate a special item called the Gold Rock.

Instructions

  Play through the game until the party has the ship called the Epoch modified so that it can fly.

  Complete the "Ghost of Cyrus" side quest by having the carpenter in the city of Choras fix the castle ruins in the year 600 A.D. Be sure to examine the grave of Cyrus in the ruins to have the Masamune sword upgraded.

  Rearrange the party so that it contains Frog, Marle, and Robo. Make sure that Frog is in the front of the group.

  Travel to the Denadoro Mountains in the year 600 A.D. and find the bird-like monster called a "fencer" who throws rocks at the party.

  Walk in the way of the thrown rocks, and as long as Frog is at the front of the party he will catch it. The rock is actually an item called the "Gold Rock."

  Fight in random battles until the party earns enough tech points for Frog to gain the "Frog Squash" tech, Marle to gain the "Life 2" tech, and Robo to gain the "Cure Beam" tech.

  Go into the menu screen and equip the Gold Rock in the accessory slot of Frog, Marle, or Robo. The "Grand Dream" triple tech will then become available for the party to use during combat.
