Play through the first half of the game until Chrono is killed by Lavos, the floating city called the Block Omen appears, and the party gains control of the time traveling airship.
Take the party to the "End of Time" area where all of the time portals are located. Speak with the old man who always stands there and he will give the party an item called the "Chrono Trigger" which can be used to bring Chrono back from the clutches of death.
Take the Epoch to the year 2300. Go to the Keeper's Dome and use the pendant to open the sealed door in the back. Proceed through the door and speak with the large blue creature called a Nu. The Nu will tell your party that you can revive Chrono if you can find something to use as a clone and take it to the top of Death Peak along with the Chrono Trigger.
Return to the year 1000 with the Epoch and head to the Millenial Fair. Enter the biggest tent on the right side of the screen. Play the mini-game in the tent to win the Chrono Clone, which is sent to Chrono's house. Go to his house just outside the Millenial Fair and speak with Chrono's mother, who will give the clone to the party.
Travel to the year 2300 and return to the Keeper's Dome. Locate the Nu and speak with it again. It will send 3 magical dolls to Death Peak to assist the party in climbing to the top.
Enter Death Peak and make your way towards the top. Throughout the mountain the 3 dolls will show up to help you past certain obstacles.
Battle your way through the large creatures called "Lavos Spawn" at the upper reaches of the mountain, and then go to the topmost point of the Peak.
Watch the scene of the party using the Chrono Trigger and the Chrono Clone to bring Chrono back to life.
