How to Get a Sega Genesis Emulator

Old video games and consoles may become obsolete, but the love fans have for these entertainments never dies. If you remember the days of the original Sonic, the Hedgehog and other Sega Genesis games, you can find and download an emulator that will have you playing those games again on your computer screen.

Instructions

    • 1

Check whether your computer has the processor to handle this emulator. A processing speed of at least 500 megahertz should be sufficient to handle a Genesis emulator.

    • 2

Search for websites that provide the emulators to download. Many of these emulators will be available for free. Check to see if the emulator works for whichever operating system you use, Windows or MacIntosh.

    • 3

Download the Genesis emulator. Follow the standard download procedure for your operating system. You must choose to save the file on Windows. It should automatically save on a Mac. Once downloaded, you will need to install it on your system.

    • 4

Fins any extra Genesis games to play on the emulator. These are in files called "roms," and there may be a few with the emulator. For any extras, search for Genesis roms and download them.
