Things You'll Need
Instructions
Defeat enemies in combat who are much higher level than your unit to raise that unit's alignment. The higher the enemy's level, the more the unit's alignment will go up after defeating him.
Kill enemies of lower level to lower your alignment. The lower an enemy's level is in comparison to your unit's level, the more alignment points your unit will lose. This aspect of the alignment system makes it hard to significantly raise a unit's alignment and requires a very careful balancing act, because the unit will have to enter combat to be able to defeat enemies of a higher level, but if they fight too much their level will raise too quickly and they will start to lose alignment.
Battle units that are typically thought of as being "good" to lower your alignment. Units such as paladins, cherubim or princesses are all "good" units. Knights and clerics are also considered "good" units, but they will lower your alignment less than the previously mentioned units.
Conquer lower-alignment enemies, or enemies that are usually considered to be "bad," to raise your alignment. Undead creatures such as ghosts and vampires are the most evil and will raise your alignment very quickly. Other units that will raise your alignment if defeated are hell hounds, werewolves and devils.
Combine the above steps for the most dramatic alignment changes. Defeating a vampire that is many levels higher than your unit will cause the biggest alignment gain, while killing a paladin that is several levels lower will cause a huge drop in alignment.
Pull tarot cards when liberating cities. Some cards will affect the alignment of the unit that liberated the city. For example, the Hierophant and Priestess cards will raise the unit's alignment, while the Tower card will lower it.
