How to Resize Images for RPG Maker VX

Known as RPG Tsukuuru in Japan, the RPG Maker franchise spans over 10 years. As of December 2013, RPG Maker VX and RPG Maker VX Ace are the latest installments of the series, and include several improvements, such as support for 64-bit operating systems. RPG Maker includes a multitude of resources you can use to create your game, but you can also import your own graphics into the program. You can't, however, just upload any picture -- RMVX and RMVX Ace have strict standards for the size and format of imported resources.

Instructions

    • 1

Press "Windows-Q" to open the Apps screen and then select "Paint" from the list. Open the picture you want to edit and then select "Resize" from the Image group on the Home tab.

    • 2

Click "Pixels" and then enter into the "Height" and "Width" fields the appropriate dimensions for the resource you want to import. For example, to use the picture as a battle graphic, enter "544" as the width and "296" as the height.

    • 3

Click "OK" to resize the image to the specified dimensions. Press "Alt-F," point to "Save As" and then choose "PNG Picture" or "JPEG Picture" from the options.
