How to Make a Survival Map Into a Server on Minecraft for Windows

Minecraft allows you to create maps on your own in single-player mode and then share them with other players all over the world. It uses the same type of map file for server games as it does for single-player games, so transferring from one to the other is a simple process. Even if you set an existing Survival game as the map on your server, you can still change the game mode for individual players by using the ̶0;/gamemode [survival/creative/adventure] [player's name]̶1; command while in the game.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to the ̶0;Saves̶1; folder in the main Minecraft folder and copy the Save file of the survival map you want to make available on the server.

    • 2

Go to the ̶0;World̶1; subfolder in the Server folder and paste the save file.

    • 3

Open the "server.properties̶1; file in the World folder and enter the name of the saved game on the "level-name=" line. Open the "File" option on the menu bar and click "Save."

    • 4

Launch your server to make the map available to other players.
