Installing New Maps
Download the map you want to use. Use an archiving utility (see Resources) to extract the folders in your downloaded RAR or ZIP file. Extract them to a location you'll easily remember, like your desktop.
Open the "Minecraft" Launcher. Click "Edit Profile" and make note of the directory path listed under "Game Directory" -- this is your "Minecraft" folder. Use a Windows Explorer window to navigate to the file directory. Open the "Saves" folder. Close the "Minecraft" Launcher once you've found your game's directory.
Navigate to the map folder you previously extracted. Drag and drop the entire folder into your "Minecraft" directory's "Saves" folder. If the downloaded map also has a Resource Pack folder, drag and drop it into your "Minecraft" directory's "Resourcepacks" folder.
Loading the Map
Open the "Minecraft Launcher" and click "Play." If your new map doesn't have its own resource pack, click "Singleplayer," choose your new map and select "Play Selected World." If your new map has its own resource pack, choose "Options" from the main menu and select "Resource Packs."
Click your newly installed map's resource pack and click the "Done" button. Click "Done" again in the options menu.
Select "Singleplayer" and choose your newly installed map. Click the "Play Selected World" button.
