How to Make Cobblestone Fence in Minecraft for PC

Fencing off areas in the PC game "Minecraft" is a good tactic to defend yourself from roaming monsters while building or to protect your livestock. Cobblestone walls are an effective method of building fences around structures as, because of their height, most monsters cannot jump over them. Spiders are still able to climb over cobblestone walls, so it is not a foolproof defense, but the higher blast resistance means better protection than wooden fences from creeper explosions.

Instructions

  Launch "Minecraft" and start a new game or load one of your saved games.

  Walk up to any tree and hold down the left mouse button while facing the trunk to chop it down.

  Collect three blocks of wood and then press "E" to open your inventory.

  Click and place one block of wood in the "Crafting" section of your inventory. Click the four planks that are crafted and place it in your inventory. Repeat the process another two times so that you have twelve planks in total.

  Click and place two planks one above the other in the "Crafting" section of your inventory. Click the four sticks that are crafted and place it in your inventory.

  Click and place four planks in the "Crafting" section of your inventory. Click the crafting table that that is created and place it in your inventory.

  Press "E" to close the inventory screen and then right-click anywhere in the game world with the crafting table selected to place it on the ground.

  Stand in front of the crafting table and right-click it to open the crafting screen.

  Place a plank in each of the three spaces on the top row of the "Crafting" section and one stick in each of the two spaces in the middle row. Click the wooden pickaxe that is crafted and place it in your inventory.

  Close the crafting screen and find some cobblestones. The game world and all resources are randomly generated for each new game, so it is impossible to specify an exact location, but these blocks occur naturally where water and lava come together. Cobblestone is also commonly found in dungeons, strongholds and non-player character villages.

  Use the pickaxe you crafted to mine the cobblestone and then return to your crafting table.

  Right-click the crafting table and place one cobblestone in each of the spaces on the bottom two rows of the "Crafting" section.

  Click the cobblestone wall that is crafted and place it in your inventory. Repeat the process to create more cobblestone walls. Six blocks of cobblestone craft six units of cobblestone wall.

  Close the crafting screen and use the mouse wheel or number keys on your keyboard to select the cobblestone wall from the inventory bar at the bottom of the screen.

  Right-click the ground with the cobblestone wall selected to start building your fence.
