Instructions
Launch "Minecraft," click "Single Player," and then click "Create New World."
Click to select "Creative" from the game modes. Click the "Superflat" terrain type from the "World Type" options, and then click "Create New World" to render the world.
Press "E" to open your inventory. Click to select "Stone" from the list of available blocks, and then press "E" again to close the inventory screen. The stone block is added to your quickbar at the bottom of the game screen.
Place stone blocks in a large rectangular shape that is a single block layer in height to create the laptop base. Fill in the interior of the rectangle with additional stone blocks. The rectangle can be any size, but a larger rectangle allows for more detail to be added later.
Place stone blocks to create a rectangular frame the same size as the laptop base. The bottom edge of this frame should meet one of the long edges of the laptop base at a 90-degree angle, so that it looks like an open laptop. This frame serves as the laptop screen bezel.
Press "E" and then select a variety of colored wool blocks from the inventory. This adds them to your quickbar for easy access.
Place the colored wool blocks in the frame to create a picture, computer logo or text. These wool blocks simulate a picture on your laptop's screen.
Press "E" and then select "Stone Pressure Plate."
Place stone pressure plates on the laptop base to serve as a keyboard. When you walk over the pressure plates, they activate and create a clicking noise that sounds like a key on a keyboard being pressed.
Place a small rectangular grouping of stone pressure plates along the edge of the laptop base farthest from the screen to create a trackpad.
Press "E" and then select "Redstone Repeater."
Place a redstone repeater -- or a series of them in a line -- along the edge of the laptop base closest to the screen to serve as the power and activity indicator lights found on most laptops.
Add additional details such as redstone wiring at the back for power, a screen backing or stone accents to make the giant laptop look more realistic.
